COAL TAR SOAP

Coal tar soaps, shampoos and ointments have long been used to treat a variety of skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema. However, over the counter products containing coal tar have been illegal for some time now in the UK and the rest of Europe due to coal tar containing at least one cancer causing chemical. Whether, products containing a small amount of coal tar actually cause cancer or not can be debated but there is no doubt that neat coal tar can definitely cause cancer. Products that indicate that they do contain coal tar such as Wrights Coal Tar Soap do not actually contain any coal tar at all and are just ordinary soaps with a coal tar fragrance. If you really want a coal tar product then the only way to get it is to go to your doctor because it is still available on prescription. In the meantime why not try our genuine pine tar soap that contains 2% Pharmaceutical grade pine tar (PINE TAR BP) in a pure triple milled vegetable soap base enriched with Vit E. The bar is hard and very long lasting with a good white lather.

It might not be as effective as coal tar but then it won't give you skin cancer!!
